Floor levelling in Leeuwarden

When levelling, we sand and prime the subfloor and pour a liquid compound that flows out flat by itself. The result is a smooth base on which your new floor stays perfectly flat, without bumps or joints showing through later.

Laying the floor yourself, or already bought it? Then we only take care of the subfloor. We often do levelling as a separate job: customers rated us 5 stars for it, including for 47 m² in Zwolle and 20 m² in Mildam.

Subfloors in Leeuwarden

Pre-war (26%)

More than a quarter of the homes in the municipality of Leeuwarden date from before 1945. There we often find wooden floors or old screeds with cracks and height differences. A wooden floor moves; ordinary levelling compound can crack on it, so we first choose a stable build-up.

Built 1945–1985 (40%)

Around 40% of homes date from this period. Under old carpet, vinyl or cork there is often adhesive residue and old levelling compound. We sand it away first — otherwise it will show through your new floor later.

New builds

In new builds, such as in De Zuidlanden, the screed is often already fairly flat. There, residual moisture is the main point of attention, especially with an anhydrite floor with underfloor heating.

How to avoid problems

  1. Old floor out firstLevelling compound doesn’t bond to loose parts or old adhesive. That is why we first remove the old floor covering and sand the subfloor.
  2. Primer is not a detailThe primer ensures adhesion and prevents air bubbles. Which primer depends on the subfloor: cement, anhydrite or tiles.
  3. Give it timeLaying too early is one of the most common mistakes. Read how long levelling compound needs to dry.

I gave Ali 5 stars because the work was delivered properly and contact went smoothly. Ali responds quickly, lets you know where you stand, is transparent about pricing and I am happy with the levelled floor!

Ali helped us very well, neatly, quickly and kindly. It was not an easy job, as he first had to repair someone else’s work before he could start levelling. I definitely recommend Ali.

Questions about floor levelling in Leeuwarden

Can’t find your question? Feel free to send us a message on WhatsApp.

How long does levelling a living room take?

Preparing and pouring an average living room can often be done within a day. Then the compound must dry: with a layer of around 3 mm often 24 to 48 hours before PVC can go down, depending on the product.

Can you level a wooden floor?

A wooden floor moves, so ordinary levelling compound can crack. Often a stable board layer is needed first, or we choose a floor that can be floated. We look at what your floor needs.

Do you also level if I lay the floor myself?

Yes. We prepare the subfloor and tell you when the compound is dry enough to lay your floor.

What does floor levelling cost in Leeuwarden?

Nationally, levelling costs on average €12.50 to €45 per m², depending on the subfloor (Werkspot price guide, 2026). A cement screed is the most affordable, a wooden floor the most expensive. You receive a clear quote after we have measured up.
