With a herringbone floor, short planks are laid in a zigzag pattern. The result is a classic, lively floor that looks beautiful in both modern and country-style interiors.
Herringbone requires more measuring and cutting than a straight floor. A good starting line, square corners and a flat subfloor are essential — otherwise the pattern runs off. That is why we level first where needed.
Herringbone comes in different materials: glued PVC (quiet and ideal with underfloor heating), click PVC (quick to install) or laminate (scratch-resistant and affordable).

Is a herringbone floor more expensive than a straight floor?
Usually yes: it involves more cutting and laying and often slightly more offcut waste. The quote shows exactly what it costs.
Which laying direction looks best?
The pattern often runs along the length of the room or towards the light. We look at this together on site, also in combination with adjoining rooms.
Can a herringbone floor go on underfloor heating?
Yes, glued herringbone PVC in particular is well suited. Many click PVC and laminate floors are too, with the right underlay.
Herringbone PVC or herringbone laminate?
PVC is water-resistant, quieter and feels warmer; laminate is scratch-resistant and often more affordable. For kitchens and hallways many customers choose PVC.
